Overview:

Nimbora is a Starknet-based infrastructure enabling users to earn and borrow on Layer 1 protocols with significantly reduced costs.

Powered by the innovative minds of the SpaceShard team, Nimbora leverages Starknet ZK Rollup to provide cost-effective DeFi strategies without compromising security or trust.

The Challenge:

The Nimbora platform was facing significant design and user experience challenges that needed immediate attention. The existing dApp featured an overly simplistic UI with support for only two Liquity-based strategies, severely limiting its functionality despite plans for future expansion. This basic design lacked the necessary clarity and scalability to accommodate additional features and strategies that were planned for the roadmap. Furthermore, users struggled to assess the risks and potential rewards associated with different strategies due to inadequate information presentation and visualization. These issues, coupled with the disconnect between the current interface and Nimbora's brand identity, necessitated a comprehensive redesign of the entire dApp to not only improve usability but also ensure brand consistency across all touchpoints.

Solution:

We began with competitor analysis, studying how similar apps like summer.fi and cian.app work.

In the next step, we prepared a Figma mood board to collect different UI design ideas and established the design foundation based on the Nimbora branding provided to us.

The project was divided into 2 phases:

Phase 1 → Improve the design and UX of the current dApp with 2 strategies, user portfolio, and points UI.

Phase 2 → Create a more advanced view of the strategies with all necessary details, analytics on top, and a mobile-responsive view of the dApp.

Phase 1

In the first phase, we iteratively designed and refined our ideas. After testing two distinct design concepts, we proceeded to create high-fidelity designs, components, and variables for both dark and light themes of the dApp.

The dApp consisted of 2 main features, Borrow and Earn, both with 2 strategies each for users to interact with.
